Schugar assumes 'pre-need' accounts from Burton Hirsch
Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 9:21AM Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc. in Shadyside just announced it is honoring all "pre-need" accounts from the Burton Hirsch Funeral Home in Squirrel Hill which was destroyed by fire on Jan. 10, 2009.
“After several months of discussions we reached an agreement with Service Corporation International, the owners of the Hirsch business at the time of the fire. SCI is the largest owner of funeral homes in the world, so the discussions took some time to conclude”, David Ryave of Schugar said in a prepared statement. “Those people with pre-need contracts with Hirsch should know that we are prepared to serve them according to their wishes.”
