Pittsburgh Eruv Update

The Yeshiva Schools and Lubavitch Center of Pittsburgh just issued the following statement regarding the Squirrel Hill eruv, which was damaged by this week's snowstorms:

"At present the eruv is down in at least in one spot. On Forbes Avenue, right below the golf course, three strings came down as a result of a tree limb. This is repairable and our repair service already knows. Rabbi Shimon Silver will survey the rest as soon as possible so if there are more repairs they can be done early.

"In addition, the weight of the snow made most of the strings that stayed up droop dramatically. If this happens again, we have to worry about their kashrus, since they can be swayed away from the lechis and since they might even drop below ten tefachim in the middle."

There's a chance that the eruv will NOT be up this coming Shabbos.
